How to write a launch tagline that hunters understand
A working formula for Product Hunt-style boards: name the user, the job, and the output. Includes examples to steal and a reject list.

What to prepare
- User: who is standing in front of the problem
- Job: the task they already do
- Output: what they walk away with
Resources
- AI tools ranking (specificity test)
If your tagline would fit every row on that list, it is too vague.
- Uneed — submit / queue
Daily board. Free queue can take weeks. Unique copy.
- Hunt0
Daily AI and SaaS hunt. Extra day, not the same morning as Product Hunt.
The formula
[User] + [job they already have] + [output]. Example: 'Turns Zoom recordings into a searchable spec for product teams.' Not: 'AI-powered platform for modern teams.'
Test it by covering the product name. If the sentence could advertise ten other tools, it fails. If a stranger knows whether to click, it passes.
- Pass: 'Invoice chaser for freelance designers who get paid late'
- Pass: 'CLI that diffs two Postgres schemas before you migrate'
- Fail: 'The operating system for builders'
- Fail: 'ChatGPT for your workflow'
Where the tagline has to work
It has to survive a daily leaderboard thumbnail (Uneed, Aura++, Hunt0), a weekly Peerlist or EarlyHunt card, and a BetaList upcoming row. If it only works as a tweet, it is not a tagline.
Put the tested line in the kit. Change the 300-word body per board, not the twelve-word promise.
