How to launch without Product Hunt
A complete launch plan that does not depend on a Product Hunt homepage finish — Peerlist weeks, quieter dailies (Uneed, Aura++), EarlyHunt or IndieHunt if you ship AI, and what 'good' looks like without a badge.

What to prepare
- A Monday you can stay in comments
- Unique copy for Peerlist and for Uneed — they are different rooms
Resources
- Peerlist Launchpad
Weekly Monday launch. Complete the profile first.
- Uneed — submit / queue
Daily board. Free queue can take weeks. Unique copy.
- MicroLaunch
Month-long dwell if you cannot clear a launch day.
- First-launch list
A short stack instead of a stadium.
You do not owe Product Hunt a morning
Plenty of durable products never had a Product Hunt moment. Plenty of homepage winners were dead in six weeks. If you cannot assemble an audience, a gallery, and a day of comments, skipping Product Hunt is professionalism, not cowardice.
What you cannot skip is distribution. The energy has to go somewhere: Peerlist, Uneed, Hunt0 or Aura++ as a quieter extra day, a waitlist feature on BetaList, and a Monday week on EarlyHunt or IndieHunt if the product is AI-shaped.
Replace the spike with a week
The psychological problem with skipping Product Hunt is the missing event. Invent a week instead of a day. Peerlist plus Smol Launch — or EarlyHunt or IndieHunt if you ship AI — plus a calmer daily board is a real launch. Measure signups, replies, and demos — not hunter counts.
Replace the badge with a lasting page
Buyers who never heard of Product Hunt still understand a product page next to real work. A Peerlist project page, a MicroLaunch dwell, and a Tiny Startups finish are more convincing than a screenshot of a leaderboard you bought with a street team.
When to go back
You can always Product Hunt later. The site is not a one-time gate. If a smaller launch taught you the one-liner and you now have 200 people who will show up, the stadium makes sense. Until then, you are paying for anxiety in a room that rewards preparation.
The no-Product-Hunt sequence
Peerlist the next Monday. Uneed on a different day once its queue lands. MicroLaunch if you cannot clear a morning. That is a complete first campaign.
- Skip every daily clone until those three are done
- Write the hunter sentence down — that is what you would have used on Product Hunt
