How to budget a launch that uses more than one board
A launch sequence is a stack of submissions, not one invoice. This calculator reads each published review's pricing block: whether launching is free, the paid-from string if the review stored one, the pricing note, and the backlink type. It does not call the platform, and a blank field stays blank.
Free only selects every review with a free launch. That is the whole catalog except Saassy Board, the review with free set to false. Its paid line is "Paid board", with no number, so the paid total leaves it out and the free-only route is $0.
The cash total and the wait are different. Uneed stores a free launch, notes that the free queue can run multiple weeks, and lists "About $30 to skip the queue". BetaList stores a free launch, notes that the free queue is slow, and lists "Roughly $39–$129 to expedite". The best free Product Hunt alternatives ranking says a free Uneed slot that lands weeks out is not free if the launch is next Tuesday. The pre-launch ranking says the BetaList free queue is often four to six weeks. File those queues while the date can still move.
A paid price is added only when that stored string has one currency and a billing period. "About $30 to skip the queue" is one-time dollars, so it counts. The BetaList range counts as $39, the lower number, and the table keeps the full string. A bare "$19", "$9", or "$2.99" has no period, so it is shown and not added. "£199 featured" on Tiny Startups is pounds and is not converted. "Boosts and ads available" on Product Hunt has no number. A missing paid-from field shows "not listed".
When paying to skip a queue is worth it
Pay to skip a queue when the free wait would miss a date other people already have. If Product Hunt day is set and free BetaList would land after it, the expedite range is the published way to buy that date. The Uneed skip is worth about $30 when the listing has to exist during launch week. It is a poor buy when you can submit early.
DirOnix's review describes a free wait of about three months and names $9 for a Premium launch in about 24 hours. The field this total reads is only "$9", so $9 is not added. EarlyHunt, IndieHunt, and ufind.best store "$19". Founder.best stores "$2.99". Peerlist Launchpad and DevHunt store a free launch, no paid-from price, and a dofollow link, so a paid tier is not required for the listing they describe. The launch platform picker is the shorter list when you want a handful of names rather than a total.
When the free route is enough
The free-only total is $0 on every selected review that says launching is free. Saassy Board is off that route. Product Hunt is on it, and its review says paid promotion does not replace a ranking. Free is enough for practice, an unfixed date, or a followed link the review already records. The best-free ranking names Peerlist, DevHunt, Hunt0, OpenHunts, and KittyLaunch as usable at $0, and Uneed and BetaList as free if you can wait. Take the weekly or daily preset, then untick boards you will not submit. A tick is a form, screenshots, and someone in the comments.
The alternatives directory holds the reviews. The 2026 guide to the best Product Hunt alternatives is how to stack a few boards instead of launching on all of them in one week. Once the Product Hunt date is real, the launch time converter turns 12:01 a.m. Pacific into your time zone.
How backlink type changes what the paid tier is buying
The backlink column is Dofollow, Nofollow, Conditional, or None. It is not a domain rating, and this page does not invent one. Dofollow means the review recorded a followed link: Product Hunt, Uneed, Peerlist Launchpad, and DevHunt. Conditional means a badge, plan, or placement can change the follow: Fazier, TinyLaunch, EarlyHunt, and IndieHunt. Nofollow means no follow was recorded: PitchWall, Firsto, and Startup Fast. No current review uses None.
Buying a dofollow is not the same purchase as skipping a queue. IndieHunt's review says the free launch is nofollow by default and Premium is a $19 dofollow. The price field the total reads is "$19" with no period, so that $19 is shown and not added. If the free path is already dofollow, the paid tier is optional. If a later page needs the link, read the backlink note on the review before you pay. Then confirm the live price on the platform. These figures are the strings in the published reviews on producthunt-alternatives.com.
