What Smol Launch is
Checked October 2026 against Smol Launch's own pages, linked in Resources. A standalone FAQ URL at smollaunch.com/faq returned 404. The FAQs quoted here are the ones printed on the homepage, pricing, how-it-works, methodology, and about pages. Where those pages disagree, both wordings are quoted. A third-party traffic estimate is not stated.
Smol Launch is a weekly product-launch platform for indie makers at smollaunch.com. The homepage FAQ says it is sometimes written as one word, smollaunch. The about page says it was founded in 2024 and is built for indie makers and bootstrapped founders. The homepage FAQ says the editorial team operates the platform, and that submissions are reviewed by automated checks plus human moderation before they go live. Homepage. About.
The llms.txt file says Smol Launch is independent and is not affiliated with smol.ai, smol developer, smol-rs, or other similarly named projects. It describes approved launches ranked inside a Monday-to-Sunday launch period. The same file says not to describe a paid launch type as buying votes or a guaranteed rank. The methodology page says paying adds zero Rank score points. Methodology.
The about page says to email team@smollaunch.com. The organization markup on the homepage, pricing, about, how-it-works, and methodology pages lists support@smollaunch.com, and a Singapore address at 60 Paya Lebar Road, #06-028, Paya Lebar Square, 409051. Both emails were on the live pages in October 2026.
Launch cadence and the queue
The about page states the window in one sentence: each launch period runs Monday 9:00 AM Pacific Time to Sunday 11:59 PM Pacific Time. A new period opens every Monday at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. Submissions can be queued for an upcoming period before that Monday. Checked October 2026 on about.
Other pages use different labels for that Monday start. The how-it-works winners line says Monday 9:00 AM PT. On 31 October 2026 the homepage labeled the next launch "Monday 2 November, 9:00 AM PST." The same homepage's event markup for the week of Oct 26, 2026 uses a start of 2026-10-26T09:00:00-07:00 and an end of 2026-11-01T23:59:59-08:00, and it points at /launches/2026-week-44. The countdown digits on that visit are not repeated here because they change. Homepage. How it works.
The free queues are capped, and the pages do not use one sentence for the cap. The homepage FAQ "Why should I launch on Smol Launch?" says free launches are paced at 50 per week. The FAQ "Is Smol Launch free?" says plain free submissions are paced at 50 a week, and badge-verified launches are also free with 50 slots a week. Both pools are platform-wide, shared by every maker, not per-maker allowances. When a week fills, the next one opens. The about FAQ says the same two pools: 50 Basic Free launches, first come first served, and a separate pool of 50 badge-verified launches a week. Premium launches are uncapped. Homepage. About.
On 31 October 2026 the pricing card for Free Verified showed "Next free week: Jan 11, 2027" and "500 ahead of you." Those two figures move. The pricing page header says "Updated September 2026." The about, how-it-works, and methodology pages say "Updated October 2026." Pricing.
The homepage text checked the same day listed "This week" beside "Week 43," while the event on that page for the week of Oct 26, 2026 points at /launches/2026-week-44. Both strings were on the homepage. The about page's own counter, which it says is refreshed every six hours, read 47 weekly cohorts, 16,000+ makers, 3,543 approved launches, and 17,600 community votes. Those are Smol Launch's labels, not a traffic estimate.
How the week is ranked
Products rank by one public Rank score. The methodology page says a registered user can vote once per launch, which adds one genuine vote and one Rank score point. Anonymous votes do not count. There is no extra weight for early votes and no decay over time. Paying adds zero points. The score freezes when the launch week is finalized on Monday. Checked October 2026 on methodology.
Bonus points on that same page: a complete profile adds up to 4 points for a profile image, a bio, and a social link. A complete product page adds up to 6 points for screenshots, a demo video, and a verified launch badge. Launch-week participation adds up to 2 points for replying to comments and supporting other makers. Ties break on early momentum and the number of unique engaged users. The same page also says ordering can consider anti-manipulation checks and deterministic fallback checks. Karma and past launch results add no Rank score points. The homepage FAQ uses the same tie-break: early momentum and unique engaged participation; karma and past launch results add no points. Homepage.
The how-it-works page's short cycle graphic says community votes run Tue–Sat, and that winners are announced the next Monday at 9:00 AM PT. The homepage step list says "Collect votes Monday to Sunday." The about page and the how-it-works FAQ say the period runs Monday through Sunday and that products accumulate votes and comments through that week. Both the Tue–Sat line and the Monday–Sunday lines were live in October 2026. How it works.
The top three by Rank score receive winner badges: Gold for 1st, Silver for 2nd, Bronze for 3rd. The how-it-works FAQ says winners are announced on Monday morning when the new period begins, and that the badges stay on the product page. Every past week keeps its own page under /launches. How it works.
Free and paid prices
Prices below are the ones printed on the pricing page. Checked October 2026 on pricing.
Free Verified is $0 per launch, after badge verification. The card says 50 verified slots a week, shared across all makers, shown on the home page, and that it covers a product's first launch. Basic Free is also described as free. It is not its own column in the comparison table. The body says Basic Free stays nofollow, and that both free paths require voting on 3 eligible launches by other makers during the current voting week. If there are not enough eligible launches, you finish the votes as more become available. Free covers a product's first launch. Later launches of that product use a paid tier.
Premium is $19 per launch. The card says launch this week with no queue, a backlink that stays after the launch week, no badge to install, no upvotes to cast first, and any open launch week. Premium+ is $39 per launch. The card says that is $20 more, and that it includes everything in Premium plus a one-week Featured Spot in the first available week after the launch week, a feature in the weekly newsletter after that spot runs, and priority review. Premium+ does not include directory submissions.
The Maker Pass is $99 per year. The page calls it a membership, not a launch type, and says every product you ship that year launches Premium, with a permanent backlink, priority review, a verified maker badge, and 2× karma on eligible engagement. It says the pass pays for itself at about 6 launches a year, and that paying $19 per launch is cheaper if you launch fewer than 6 times. Pass holders can add a Featured Spot and newsletter feature to a launch for $20. The footer says you can cancel the pass anytime. The methodology page says karma does not add Rank score points.
Launch Everywhere starts at $99 per order and is a separate directory-submission service. Lite is $99 per order for 30+ completed directory submissions for one app, or $79 with a Maker Pass. Plus is $149, or $129 with a Maker Pass, for 60+. Pro is $199, or $179 with a Maker Pass, for 100+. Each directory decides whether and when to publish. You can add it to Premium or Premium+, or buy it on its own. The page says you can move up a tier later and pay only the difference. The difference amount is not stated.
A Featured Spot is $19 per week, or $61 for 4 weeks. The page calls the 4-week price a 20% bundle discount. It is an ad on the homepage and in the product feed for a full launch week, it stays out of the ranking, and the link is marked sponsored. Newsletter Sponsorship is $49 per issue: sole sponsor above one weekly winners email, with a stated reach of 3,500+ readers. The page says a full refund applies if they cannot run it. It also says the Premium+ newsletter feature is a later roundup, not this sole-sponsor spot.
What a launch gets
Homepage time, on the pages checked: the homepage headline says you get a full week on the front page. The how-it-works FAQ says approved products appear on the home page for that week. The pricing table marks "Shown on the home page" as included for Free Verified, Premium, and Premium+. Launch Everywhere shows that row as "with a launch tier." A Featured Spot is a separate sponsored placement for a full launch week, outside the ranking. Premium+ includes one of those spots in the first available week after the launch week, not during it. Homepage. Pricing. How it works.
Badges are two different objects. Winner badges are Gold, Silver, and Bronze for the top three, and the how-it-works page says winners can download the image and that the badge remains on the product page. The verification badge is the embed you add so a free listing becomes Free Verified. The pricing FAQ says that badge is re-checked weekly. The Maker Pass lists a verified maker badge on the profile. The homepage says winners keep a permanent badge. How it works. Pricing.
The backlink depends on the page and the tier. Read the rel word only where Smol Launch prints it. The homepage FAQ says every approved product gets a permanent listing that links to your site. It does not name dofollow, nofollow, sponsored, or ugc. The pricing page says Basic Free stays nofollow, and that verifying the site with the badge makes a dofollow listing. The pricing FAQ says unverified free launches use a nofollow link. The how-it-works FAQ says the free verified tier earns a high-authority backlink only while the Smol Launch badge remains verified, and it does not repeat the word dofollow. Homepage. Pricing. How it works.
Premium, Premium+, and the Maker Pass are described as a permanent, high-authority backlink with no badge to install or verify. A rel value for that paid backlink is not stated. The Featured Spot link is the one they mark sponsored. The homepage says the listing stays on a DR 76 domain. The pricing FAQ says Smol Launch currently measures DR 76, verified by Ahrefs, and that Domain Rating is not a Google metric. That DR figure is Smol Launch's own statement.
How to submit
You need an account. The how-it-works FAQ says yes, create a free account to submit, manage launches, and earn badges. The about page says free to join and no credit card required. Login providers on the submit page are not stated. A character limit for the listing name, tagline, or description is not stated. The newsletter example on the pricing page says taglines there are shortened to 60 characters. That line is about the newsletter feature, not the listing form. Submit. How it works. About.
The browser path on the submit page: paste your URL, and Smol Launch pulls in the name, tagline, description, and logo. Pick a plan and a launch week. You can launch for free. They check every launch before it goes live. The how-it-works page names the listing as name, tagline, description, logo, and link, and says a submission can come back approved, rejected, or needing revision. The methodology page says an automated AI reviewer flags likely issues and a human moderator makes the final call, with a typical turnaround of 24–48 hours. Methodology.
The agent path on the same submit page: add the MCP server at https://smollaunch.com/mcp. The page names Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP client. No API key. The agent drafts the listing, you sign in to finish, and the link works for 24 hours. llms.txt says the same boundary: prepare_launch returns a link a person completes, and agents do not send the final submission or the payment.
- Create the free account. The about page says no credit card is required.
- Paste the product URL in the browser form, or ask an MCP client to draft from that URL.
- Check the name, tagline, description, and logo that the form fills in. Listing character limits are not stated.
- For either free path, vote on 3 eligible launches by other makers in the current voting week. Premium says no upvotes to cast first.
- For Free Verified, embed the Smol Launch badge. The pricing page says that path is dofollow after verification. Basic Free stays nofollow.
- Pick the week. Free slots are the capped pools above. Premium and Premium+ say you can choose an open week.
- Wait for review. Methodology says the typical turnaround is 24–48 hours. The listing goes live only after approval.
Who it suits
The about page says any maker can submit: independent solo founders, small teams, side projects, and bootstrapped startups. It says the platform does not gate by team size or funding stage. The same page names two groups: indie makers and bootstrapped founders who want early traction, and early adopters who vote and comment. An exclusion list is not stated. Checked October 2026 on about.
The pricing table's "Best for" row is more specific. Free Verified: first launch. Premium: the launch and the backlink. Premium+: the launch plus homepage and newsletter promotion. Launch Everywhere: distribution beyond Smol Launch. The Maker Pass copy is for serial makers, and the page says $19 per launch is the cheaper option under about 6 launches a year. Pricing.
Where Smol Launch's pages disagree
These are the mismatches on the pages checked in October 2026. They are quotes, not a guess about which line is current.
- Vote days. The how-it-works cycle graphic says Tue–Sat. The homepage, the about page, and the how-it-works FAQ say Monday through Sunday.
- Week label. On 31 October 2026 the homepage listed "This week" beside "Week 43," and the event for the week of Oct 26, 2026 pointed at /launches/2026-week-44.
- Monday clock label. About says 9:00 AM Pacific Time. How it works says 9:00 AM PT for the winners announcement. The homepage next-launch line on 31 October 2026 said 9:00 AM PST for Monday 2 November.
- Free-slot sentence. One homepage FAQ says free launches are paced at 50 per week. The next FAQ, the about FAQ, and the pricing card describe two pools of 50: Basic Free and badge-verified.
- Contact email. The about page prints team@smollaunch.com. Organization markup on the same site prints support@smollaunch.com.
- Freshness label. Pricing says Updated September 2026. About, how it works, and methodology say Updated October 2026.
- Backlink rel. Pricing says nofollow for Basic Free and dofollow after badge verification. The homepage link FAQ does not name a rel. Premium's rel is not stated. The Featured Spot link is marked sponsored.
How it compares to Product Hunt
Smol Launch's own pages do mention Product Hunt. The homepage FAQ says yes, it is a Product Hunt alternative, because the launch is a weekly cohort instead of a 24-hour format, which gives a full week of visibility and reduces time-zone disadvantage. The about FAQ says the cycle resets each week so a product does not compete against last quarter's viral hit, that the board is built for indie makers and bootstrapped founders rather than VC-backed launches, and that every product gets equal placement until votes decide the order. Checked October 2026 on the homepage and about.
This site's editorial comparison is Smol Launch vs Product Hunt. The scored listing is the Smol Launch review. The other playbooks are on the guides index. The Monday launch calendar is the weekly schedule note. How Peerlist Launchpad works is the how-it-works page for another Monday board.
